KPMG Completes Deal to Acquire Oracle ERP Consulting Operation of Hackett Group
Monadnock Research - 8 March 2013

KPMG has completed its transaction to acquire the Oracle ERP practice of the Hackett Group. The predecessor strategic IT consulting operation of the Hackett Group, Answerthink, was founded in 1997 by former KPMG partners. Those principals included Hackett's current CEO Ted Fernandez, along with Ulysses Knotts, Allan Frank and David Dungan. The latter finding is particularly relevant for consulting category management leaders who must balance the temptation to shift large blocks of work to larger strategic firms that might otherwise be more appropriately awarded to a large number of niche service providers whose capabilities may meet or exceed those of the larger firms on some projects and have more attractive fee structures, while helping meet the strate...More
