A.T. Kearney Achieves Carbon Neutrality in Consulting Operations
Monadnock Research - 6 August 2010
MR - As one of the world's leading providers of consulting services to help clients improve operational efficiency and sustainability, A.T. Kearney had much at stake when it made a pledge in 2007 to be carbon neutral in 2010. The firm now says it has achieved carbon neutrality across its worldwide operations. During 2008 A.T. Kearney realized a 5 percent reduction, and then stepped up the pace to a 14 percent reduction in 2009 and is aspiring to complete 2010 with a 20 percent reduction. Since more than 80 percent of the firm's carbon footprint related to travel, it developed tools to calculate carbon emissions for all travel criteria including airline, hotel, car, rail, public transportation and taxi use, and measures that carbon impact by client project, employee, and office location. The firm says its efforts to measure and track travel-related carbon footprint have been recognized as pioneering and as a best practice by travel industry groups. (510 words) . . . More
